    Creating "Opposite Hand" Parts

To create an "opposite hand" or "mirrored" part, follow these simple steps.

    1. Create a temporary assembly without default datum planes.

    2. Assemble the part to be mirrored. Use #Component; #Assemble ...

    3. Create the opposite hand part using #Component; #Create.

    4. Pick Part and Mirror and enter a name for the new part in the dialog box as shown.

    5. Pick OK in the dialog box.

    6. Pick #Reference or #Copy.

    7. Pick the part to be mirrored.

    8. Pick a datum plane or planar surface in the part to mirror about.

The new part is created. If you use the #Reference option, the two parts reference each other. If you use the #Copy option, the two parts are independent of each other.

You do not have to keep the assembly because no reference is made to it. The parts will continue to reference each other without the assembly.
