Free Drawings

To get a "free" drawing when performing a "Save As" on a model, use these rules.

1. The existing model and drawing must have the same filename.

....... Example: 123.prt and 123.drw

2. Set the config.pro option "rename_drawings_with_object" to "both".

....... rename_drawings_with_object ....both

3. The drawing does not have to be "in session". The model may be a part or assembly.

4. Perform a File, Save As on the model. The system will create a new drawing in the working directory with the same name as the new model. The new drawing is a copy of the original drawing and references the new model.
