Open Objects by 'Drag and Drop'

In Pro/ENGINEER 2000i, objects can be opened into session by dragging them from a file browser (explorer or file manager) and dropping them into the current graphics window.

When a part or assembly file is dropped into an active assembly window, the system displays the Confirm Retrieval dialog box as shown in the next figure. Choose Assemble to assemble the model into the assembly. Choose Retrieve to open the model into a separate window. A part or assembly model can also be dropped into an active interchange assembly.

When a part or assembly model is dropped into an active drawing, the system displays the Confirm Retrieval dialog box as shown in the next figure. Choose Add View to add the model to the drawing and enter the #Views menu. Choose Retrieve to open the model into a separate window.

An IGES or neutral format file can be dropped into an active part. The system will display the Confirm Retrieval dialog box as shown in the next figure. Choose Append to add the geometry to the active part. Choose Create to add the geometry to a new model.

When an IGES or neutral format file is dropped into an empty window, the system displays the Import New Model dialog box as shown in the next figure. Choose the desired new model type and then select OK.
